Introduction

Without refrigerated and frozen food transport – the so-called Reefer trade – Dutch supermarkets would not be able to offer their huge range of exotic fresh products such as bananas and mangos to their customers. Perishable goods are transported on special refrigerated or/and freezer vessels, in addition to refrigerated containers on conventional cargo ships.

KVNR member Seatrade is a world market leader in refrigerated and frozen food transport. The company recently took delivery of a new large refrigerated vessel – the Juice Express – to transport concentrated fruit juice.
